Satish Tadikonda
President & CEO

As Founder, President and CEO of Virtify, Dr. Satish Tadikonda has developed Virtify into a market leader in structured content management for life sciences. With more than 21 years of experience in the life sciences industry, Dr. Tadikonda's expertise spans drug and medical device development, and software systems development. Over the course of his career, he has helped develop a number of long-term strategic initiatives and quick win solutions for clients. In addition to a deep understanding of discovery and development processes, Dr. Tadikonda has hands-on experience with a number of R&D and commercial systems, including systems for optimizing electronic submissions, clinical trial and data management, clinical trial disclosure, global labeling, medical imaging, product life cycle management, and manufacturing operations. Dr. Tadikonda also plays a leadership role in the development of global regulatory standards and is an active participant in a variety of electronic standards committees.

Dr. Tadikonda has been instrumental in the development of the Virtify software suite and has helped develop Virtify's comprehensive professional services portfolio to enhance quality and compliance for some of the world's leading life sciences companies.

Prior to Virtify, Dr. Tadikonda was the founder of Tribiosys, Inc., a Cambridge, MA-based scientific consulting company. Before this venture, he was the Founder, CEO and President of Enmed, Inc., a clinical trial and data management systems development company. At Enmed, Dr. Tadikonda was responsible for conceptualizing and developing a suite of products designed to improve the speed and efficiency of clinical development, including electronic data capture and real-time reporting of serious adverse events. The suite of products supported eCRF generation, investigator, site, clinical data, medical image and document management.

Prior to Enmed, Dr. Tadikonda served as Director of Imaging Science at EPIX Medical, Inc., where he led the company's imaging department and helped develop innovative techniques to visualize vascular structures. Early in his career, he was a lead engineer with Hewlett-Packard Medical Products Group, working on developing innovative MRI, Ultrasound and Telemedicine products.

Dr. Tadikonda holds a Doctorate in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Iowa, and a Bachelor of Technology in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, India. Dr. Tadikonda has published and presented more than 30 articles in peer-reviewed journals and international conferences on topics in global labeling, medical imaging, clinical trial data management/disclosure, and technology in the life sciences.

Michael Webb
Executive Chairman

Mike Webb has more than 25 years of experience in healthcare and life sciences. Most recently, he was the CEO of Ascent Therapeutics, a venture-backed company focusing on developing pepducins, a new biology platform for drug discovery. Prior to founding Ascent, he was the CEO of EPIX Pharmaceuticals, Inc. from 1994 through 2005. During this period, EPIX grew from a venture-backed startup to the world leader in discovery and development of pharmaceuticals for imaging with MRI, achieving worldwide approval for its lead product and completing numerous public financings and corporate partnerships, including an IPO. Mr. Webb joined EPIX from CIBA, where he was most recently Senior Vice President, Worldwide Marketing and Strategic Planning of CIBA Diagnostics, responsible for global marketing, program management, corporate planning, business development, and licensing. Prior to CIBA, Mr. Webb was a senior consultant at Booz, Allen & Hamilton, specializing in healthcare and life sciences.

Mr. Webb holds Bachelors degrees in Biochemistry and Economics from the University of Kansas, Summa Cum Laude, and an MA in International Relations from Sussex University in the UK, completing his thesis on "Pharmaceuticals Policy and the World Health Organization." In addition, Mr. Webb holds an MBA degree with honors from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University. He currently serves on the boards of the Massachusetts Biotechnology Council, where he is past Chairman, the Kellogg Center for Biotechnology at Northwestern and is a Senior Advisor to Johnston and Blakely, a life sciences investment banking firm.

Steve Read
CFO

Steve comes to Virtify with a wealth of experience, including over twenty-five years of public and private company experience with strong financial, operational, budget and planning skills in the biotech, healthcare and information technology industries. In his previous roles, he gained experience with mergers and acquisitions, and debt and equity financings in both the venture and public markets.  For the past 10 years, Steve has served as Chief Financial officer at Xceed Molecular, venture backed molecular diagnostics testing and solutions company, ClearStory Systems, Inc., a publicly traded software company, and Exact Sciences Corporation, a publicly traded biotechnology company.  Prior to that, Steve held senior financial positions at Renaissance Worldwide, Inc., Concentra Managed Care, Inc. and Computervision Corporation.

Steve is a licensed CPA in Massachusetts and has received his Bachelor of Sciences degree from the University of Rhode Island and his Masters of Business Administration from Babson College.

Tom Witmer
Vice President of North American Sales

Tom Witmer is responsible for Virtify's sales and partner organization. He has over 30 years of sales and sales leadership experience in enterprise software companies in the database and content management space serving the life sciences software industries. 

Mr. Witmer joined Virtify from Progress Software, where he was responsible for starting up their Life Sciences sales practice. Prior to Progress (Savvion), as an early employee, Tom spent over 14 years at Documentum's Life Science sales vertical handling major accounts such as Pfizer, Schering-Plough, Merck, and Becton Dickinson. He was also instrumental in starting and participating in the Life Sciences Customer Advisory Council at Documentum. Prior to Documentum, Mr. Witmer has held various senior sales management positions at Verity, Unify, Ingres, and Timeplex.  

Mr. Witmer holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Rider University.

Jawa Tembulkar
Vice President of Engineering

Jawa Tembulkar has more than 20 years' experience in the software industry, delivering complex software products in a wide range of domains, including web-based system management and monitoring tools, computer aided design, product lifecycle management, networking, handheld devices, and storage (NAS and SAN).

Mr. Tembulkar joined Virtify from EMC Corporation where, as Director of Software, he was responsible for system management and monitoring tools for EMC's flagship NAS product, Celerra. This included overall delivery of web-based Graphical User Interfaces, Command Line Interface, and Application Programmable Interfaces. Prior to EMC, he served as Vice President of Software at adAlive, a startup focused on developing hardware and multi-tier software to deliver advertising content to handheld devices. Prior to adAlive, Mr. Tembulkar served as Vice President of Applications Software at Parametric Technology Corporation (PTC), where he was responsible for the delivery of ship building, piping, routing, drafting, and detailing modules. At PTC, he was also the Director of Pro/DESKTOP, a Windows native CAD product that was eventually targeted to the educational marketplace. Prior to PTC, he was on a three-year assignment in Pune, India, as the technical liaison and Resource Manager for Computervision Corporation's India R&D center. He has also served in various technical capacities at Intergraph Corporation, Prime-Calma and Prime-Computervision.

Mr. Tembulkar's forte is building and leading global multi-function teams to deliver complex products and systems. He has considerable experience restructuring and optimizing organizations, and transforming development processes and culture. He has hands-on experience with Open Source, Java, and Windows technology platforms. Mr. Tembulkar has a Bachelor's degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, and a M.S. from North Carolina State University, Raleigh, NC.

Varghese Jacob
General Manager (India)

As General Manager of Virtify's India Operations, Varghese Jacob brings to our team more than 18 years of experience successfully managing large IT projects covering infrastructure, embedded, networking, and OLTP projects with a leading TATA group company. He has worked extensively in banking, transportation, telecom and defense sectors in India and abroad on crucial projects. His skills and qualifications in the areas of Project Management (PMP from PMI, USA) and Quality Management (CSQA from SAI, USA) and his training in Six Sigma enhance our proven ability to deliver. He has built strong technical teams with his excellent communication, training and motivating skills, working in multi-location, geographically and culturally diverse global projects. In 2004, he was selected for a unique International Leadership training program in Singapore and returned with honors for the Indian team in some of the multinational events.

Mr. Jacob has provided training on technology management and up-gradation to top management and senior managerial staff of Banks at RBI (India's banking regulator), ASCI, ESCI, HICKS, Sudan and Syrian Railways. As an integral part of his responsibilities, he has demonstrated in-depth knowledge of new technologies and skills in planning, review, design, implementation, life cycle management, and support for various products, services and integration projects in India, China, Middle East, UK, and the US. He has completed many critical and challenging assignments, including an Outsourced Supplier's Audit assessment for Motorola, an Integrated Multi Passenger Reservation System for the South Central Railways, and highly secure campus LAN and WAN solutions and application integration for the Indian Financial Network (INFINET), a blend of VSAT and Terrestrial dedicated nationwide links for RBI and Defense Rapid Online Network Access for DRDO covering 51 Defense Labs across India.

Mr. Jacob has consulted with various organizations including PSU Banks such as Oriental Bank of Commerce, State Bank of Patiala, State Bank of Saurashtra, Punjab National Bank, RBI, BHEL, DRDL, ARCI, and ASCI. He has successfully trained over 100 professionals on Project Management.

Mr. Jacob has a Masters in Advanced Electronics from JNTU Hyderabad. He has special research interest in Quality of Services in Networking. He is an ardent amateur pianist, photographer and world traveler.

Matthew Slough
General Manager (Philippines)

Matthew Slough heads Virtify's Philippines operations. He has more than 20 years' experience in designing, implementing and enhancing software solutions for Fortune 500 companies. He also has an extensive background in offshore development of enterprise applications and services.

Most recently, Mr. Slough has led teams of more than 60 developers in the Philippines developing enterprise level software applications and providing support services for large clients in the Life Insurance, Health Insurance and Financial Services industries. He founded and led an Offshore Development Center that built applications using Java and .Net technologies for US-based clients. Previously, as a Senior Consultant with LIDP Consulting Inc., Mr. Slough filled a variety of roles, from software developer to technical lead and project management, for clients throughout the US including ING, Torchmarch, and Western Southern Financial. In this capacity, he led multiple projects involving more than 100 people across various geographic locations both domestically and abroad.

Mr. Slough has a B.S. in Computer Information Systems from DeVry University.

Anmol Wassan
Director of Professional Services

Anmol Wassan is responsible for client-service delivery, solutions development, client management, and sales and marketing of services operations at Virtify. As a key member of the senior management team, Mr. Wassan has helped shape Virtify's growth and development over the past several years. In his many roles at Virtify over the years, he has managed the company's operations and helped with the execution and delivery of a number strategic and quick hit projects, using both onshore and offshore service delivery models. Mr. Wassan has also participated in industry standards activities and contributed to the development of Virtify's software and services offerings. He is an active participant in implementing solutions for regulatory mandates such as Clinical Trial Transparency and Structured Product Labeling.

Prior to joining Virtify, Mr. Wassan was at Smith Barney and Merrill Lynch serving as part of Citigroup's Global Markets group in a team that provided customized solutions to high-net-worth clients. He was responsible for research on hedge funds, private equity and traditional money managers, a project to find new institutional clients and projects revolving around presentations to clients. At Merrill, he was responsible for a project on a mechanical trading system method based on fundamental stock selection.

Mr. Wassan has a B.A. in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance and a minor in Computer Science from Franklin & Marshall College.

Joseph Gentile
Board Advisor

Joseph Gentile is Vice President and General Manager of BD Biosciences Discovery Labware, with more than 25 years of experience in the high-technology medical device and life sciences industry. He is responsible for the strategic and operational restructuring of the company by re-focusing the business on the higher growth areas of drug discovery and proteomics while further developing, revitalizing and strengthening the core business of tissue culture and fluid handling. As a member of the BD Biosciences Leadership Team, he has joint responsibility for overall business performance and development including business alliances, acquisitions and portfolio management. Prior to joining BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company), of which BD Biosciences is one of four business segments, Mr. Gentile served as a member of Hewlett-Packard's core management team responsible for the determination of customer needs, product requirements and business structure for a major new business start up. During his tenure with Hewlett-Packard, he was responsible for the design and implementation of the Medical Group's Global Technology Strategy and management of a group-wide task force chartered with the design of a comprehensive resource allocation model for project, program and portfolio valuation. Mr. Gentile has a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and a minor in Biology from Northeastern University and an M.S. and M.B.A. (Summa Cum Laude) from Boston University.
